iOS 8.4.1 - Update

Apple has released yesterday the last update for the IOS family.

It is an update for all devices mostly regarding the Apple Music App/Service (bug fixes) and no other big changes are reported.

As usual, we have done our local tests regarding the compatibility with our products and they all work as normal in the previous 8.3/8.4 conditions.

In brief:

  • Gevey Ultra-S V2.02 - Still safe in all iPhone 4S devices
  • Gevey Ultra-S i5 - Still safe in all iPhone 4S/5C/5S/6/6+ devices
  • XSIM Evo Ultra - Still safe in all iPhone 4S/5/5C/5S/6/6+ devices
  • RSIM 9Pro - Still safe in all iPhone 4S (no not use above iOS 7.1.2 on the iPhone 5/5C/5S/6/6+)
  • RSIM 10 - Still safe in all iPhone 4S/5/5C/5S/6/6+ devices

On the USIM patches (needed in countries that use 128Kb SIM card and the user cannot find a 64Kb version) they are still working up to iOS 8.1.x and the development is being done for the latest iOS versions.

New iOS update - 8.1

Hello,

Apple has just seeded a few hours ago the new iOS 8.1, within the improvements, there are the following key updates:

  • Implementation of Apple Pay
  • Improovement of the Personal HotSpot
  • Camera Roll re-implementation
  • iCloud Photo Library - Beta
  • SMS Relay

There are no reports of problems with this new iOS version and as always it is recommended the upgrade.

For our tests, our SIM adapters are still safe in the same conditions as in iOS 8.0.2, that means that if your device was already supported on iOS 8.0.2, you can upgrade.

Test Resuts:

Please remind that even if the cards work in iOS 8.1, some users that have 128K/256K SIM cards, may need a patch to force network aquisition. For iOS 8.1, the only patch available is the RSIM RPatch taht you can purchase here - RPATCH

iOS 7.1 - Update safe for i4S and 5 - Stay away if on i5C or i5S

Hi,

as a result of our tests, we came to the conclusion that there are some variants and all valid for all manufacurers, either Gevey, X-SIM or R-SIM.

  • iPhone 4S - Can update on GSM Phones
  • iPhone 5 - Can update on GSM Phones (2G Data)

As we're in Europe we cannot test CDMA phones (Sprint/Verizon).

In the case that you are using a 64Kb/128Kb SIM and have issues (NO SERVICE) just follow this procedure that will fix it:

  • Install Rsim + Sim, choose carrier, and phone, reboot
  • Download iRoseTool to your desktop
  • Open iTools or iFunBox and drag and drop iRosetool.ipa onto iPhone
  • Force 2G or Force 3G if you have 64k/128k SIM
  • Use unlockit.co.nz to install carrier bundle (APN Settings)

Enjoy

iOS 7.0.6 - Security Fix

Hi,

On Feb. 21st, Apple has released a new version of iOS, the 7.0.6

This version is in a short review a security fix that eliminates a major hole in the SSL protocol, open in Apple product, affecting all from the iPhone, to the iPad, notebooks and desktop.

SSL is an encryption used on the web, that encrypts the connection between your device and the web server, it prevents phishing and makes safe the use of personal data over the internet. As it seams, a hole was open and it was needed a security patch to close the problem once it was known.

We at GeveyStore.com recommend that all users upgrade to the iOS 7.0.6!

We can also guarantee that our SIM Interposers that worked on iOS 7.0.4 are safe to use in iOS 7.0.6 - we've covered the models and they are compatible. In this case, the Gevey Ultra-S V2.02, Gevey Ultra-S i5, X-SIM Evo and the RSIM9 Pro, all are safe to use in this new iOS version.

Remember always to check if the new iOS verson is compatible with your SIM Interposer as once upgraded, if incompatible, there is no way back.

Have fun
